One of the things I noticed in my 34 years as a non-profit executive was a need for comradery and support among peers who understood the pressures and challenges of being an exec in a high pressure non-profit setting. I also often neglected my own growth as I focused on organizational growth. S0 this became a driving vision - to create a company to fill these needs for nonprofit execs. As that took shape I saw other gaps that were recognizable throughout my career and I began to create programs to fill those slots as well. It has been a fulfillment of one of my deepest passions to create Space to Focus.

Since launching Space to Focus Coaching and Consulting in 2014, I have provided services to over 250 organizations. Using my career experience to give insight and perspective, I enjoy creating space as a support system to people who are acting on their values and are managing the intense pressures that come along with leadership positions.

Another of my passions has been outdoor life (mountains, rivers, and fly fishing - and lots of space to focus!) To be able to connect and create with many leaders across the country while living in the wide-open space of Taos, New Mexico is as beautiful and rewarding as it gets!

I spent most of my life and career in Kansas City, earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Missouri, Columbia. I began executive roles with Open Options, Inc. (1980-1997), then served as CEO of UCP of Greater Kansas City, the United Cerebral Palsy affiliate, until 2013.
